I’m sure you’ve heard by now that Dita has her own stockings brand. But where to buy them? Secrets in Lace of course! In fact, Secrets in Lace has the largest selection of full fashioned stockings in the world!

But what are the advantages of wearing full fashioned stockings?

Anyone who has worn regular stockings with stretch lycra and faux seams, even for just a few hours, knows how hard it is to keep those seams straight. It can get annoying having to constantly fix your stockings. Full fashioned stockings are more stable and your seams will stay straight. Remember they are made of non-stretch nylon, therefore they do not stretch! They are shaped to the leg and you will need to buy the proper size for your leg, else if you stretch them, they will start to slide down. You will be able to tell the difference between real nylon stockings and shitty .99 cent store lycra stockings!

Secrets in Lace brand is not available in stores. They’ve resisted requests from large retailers and only sell by catalog and their website. Dita Von Teese herself is a customer, and chose the brand to create her line because she trusted the company’s knowledge and experience with full fashioned stockings.

A. “I have been obsessed with seamed stockings my whole life, and I would collect vintage ones that were made in the ’40s and ’50s with the authentic styling of the keyhole, the welt, the reinforced toe and heels, French or Cuban heels, and hand-stitched seams. I can’t stand faux-seamed stockings with lycra — you lose the sensual feeling of the fabric. So, I began shopping with Secrets In Lace, and together we made the ultimate fancy-styled seamed stocking.”

The website offers Dita’s brand of stockings in five different sizes (P, S, M, L, Opera) in French Heel (Black or Beige) and Glamour French Heel (Beige or Grey).

  This is a German issue of Penthouse from 12 years ago. A Suze Randall photoshoot, possibly pre-”von Teese” era Dita. Fairly rare.

  I haven’t signed up to Dita.net for a while, but if I recall correctly, this shoot isn’t archived there, though at least one other Randall shoot is.

I normally don’t bother watching Eurovision. I’m not much of a fan of any pop music. But this year, since Russia was hosting it, my Russian roommate made me watch it.

Showing off her seductively sexy ways in Russia, Dita Von Teese was busy performing in the grand finale of the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow on Saturday night (May 16).

During the competition, Dita performed a burlesque routine while pop duo Alex Swings Oscar Sings competed for the top prize.

I don’t know what show people were watching, but she hardly did any “routine”. She was up there for maybe 30 seconds.

This tame picture of Dita is as sexy as it got on stage. Prior to the event, Dita told press, “I feel honored to appear with Alex and Oscar at the Grand Prix in Moscow. I hope that our collaboration will win.”

Unfortunately, things didn’t go her way – as Norway won the competition when singer Alexander Rybak beat out the 24 other contestants.

A German television boss said Von Teese was told to show less cleavage during her performance at the Eurovision song contest. Maybe if she’d shown more they would’ve won? Ha!

Dita Von Teese recently interviewed with Inked magazine for their March issue. The interviewer asked some compelling questions, not the typical crap journalists are always asking. (Although the questions about her ex-husband, Marilyn Manson, seem to still apply even though they’ve been divorced for what? 2 years now? Jeez, let the girl forget her mistake!) Anyway, one question had me raising my eyebrows:

Q. What do you think of L.A. “burlesque” groups like the Pussycat Dolls?

A. I did a lot of shows with them, but I had a lot of legal issues with their creator over the years. It’s so far removed from what it originally was. I think it’s really great they decided to become a pop group and they’ve left the pseudo-burlesque alone. It drives me crazy when the media or groups like the Pussycat Dolls try to sanitize and take away the sexual and nudity aspects of burlesque. I’m sorry, but if you’re not up there taking your clothes off and dancing around in pasties and a G-string, it’s not burlesque. It can be cabaret, or it can be cute and funny and retro-showgirly, but it’s not burlesque. They were strippers, and that’s the way it was.

Well, finally! I’m so glad someone said it. Even better that Dita has, since she is the reigning queen of burlesque. I’m so tired of psuedo-burlesque scene queens and wannabe pin-up girls! So much so that I started this blog.

When did it become okay for women to tease? If I’m going to throw down some hard-earned cash on entrance fees, website memberships and tickets to your show, I’d like to at least see some tits.

I remember when Dita first came on the scene (or, rather when she went mainstream) all of these burlesque troops popped up in major cities everywhere. I suppose I should be happy the burlesque revival is getting a lot of media attention, but it became a watered down version of the original somewhere along the way. What should be a full-on strip tease out of Mr. Pearl corsets and 100% real nylon stockings has become a group of wannabes in Hot Topic lingerie and go-go boots pretending to be lesbians and giving each other spankings. Borrring!

Dita, you’ve set the bar too high!

Ps. Does anyone else find it funny that a magazine about tattoos does a feature on someone whose only tattoo is a beauty mark? I’m not knocking her tattoo, it’s really cute. I’d get one if I didn’t already have a beauty mark.
